The Pecan Valley Republican Women will be hosting a luncheon on Wednesday, June 27 at the Brownwood Country Club and the topic for the month will be the 2nd Amendment, the right of people to keep and bear arms. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. The cost of the buffet luncheon is $12, which is payable at the door.
State certified concealed handgun instructor Frank Niemiec will be the guest speaker of the luncheon. Niemiec is a supporter and member of the Second Amendment Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. He has served 3 years on the board of directors for the Texas Concealed Handgun Association and served as a former executive director of the Association of Conceal Carry Instructors. Niemiec is retired after 30 years of teaching, has been married for more than 43 years, and has two children. One of his children is in education and the other is a Texas Game Warden. Niemiec, a Vietnam Veteran, is a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Vietnam Veterans Association and Texas Concealed Handgun Association.
“As our Founding Fathers knew well, a government that does not trust its honest, law-abiding, taxpaying citizens with the means of self-defense is not itself worthy of trust. Laws disarming honest citizens proclaim that the government is the master, not the servant, of the people,” said Niemiec.
The steps necessary to carry a concealed hand gun license will also be addressed. If there is enough interest a certified concealed handgun class will be offered, for women only, at a later date.
