The local chapter of the Knights of Columbus #3867 recently brought a check for $200 to give to ARK Domestic Violence Shelter Executive Director Terri Densman. Diocesan Deputy George Huseman, of the San Angelo Diocese, Michael Murray, Grand Knight, and Jim Peplinski, District 227 Deputy, stopped by The ARK Administration Offices to hand deliver the check. The three were busy all morning delivering similar checks to other non-profits in Brownwood which were the proceeds from a recent raffle for a riding lawn mower that they hosted.
In addition to The ARK, the trio presented checks to The Pregnancy Care Center, Good Samaritan Ministries, Brown County Search & Rescue, and the Heroes Account – for families of fallen law enforcement officers across Texas. In addition, they were also able to buy some wheelchairs for the National Wheelchair Association. They sold over 900 tickets for the riding lawn mower, which was won by Redstone Park Assisted Living Facility. The ARK Domestic Violence Shelter (The ARK) provides a safe place for victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault and their families from three counties; Brown, Coleman and Comanche.
