stevefryarThe Pecan Valley Republican Women’s Club January Meeting will be held Wednesday January 25, 2011 starting at 11:30 am at the Brownwood Country Club.

Steve Fryar will be the guest speaker and will be talking about the importance of voting in the 2012 election.  Cost of lunch is $10 payable at the door.

The Pecan Valley Republican Women meet every 4th Wednesday at the Brownwood Country Club at 11:30 A.M.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Raised in Brownwood, Fryar has been involved in his family’s oil and gasoline business since 1980. In 1989, Steve’s company purchased several convenience stores in the central Texas area. Additional stores have been added in recent years. His company has worked with area school districts to help improve attendance rates for the past 16 years by rewarding students and teachers for perfect attendance.

He has also had an interest in Fryar Cattle Company with his father, Calvin, raising Angus and Maine-Anjou cattle and Quarter Horses and Paints.

Governor Rick Perry appointed Fryar to the Texas Youth Commission in February 2002 and then reappointed him in July 2006. He is also a former Republican nominee for State Representative and has volunteered his time on several boards and committees: The Legislative Committee For The Texas Food & Fuel Association, The Brown County United Way, Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Brownwood Country Club Board of Directors, Brownwood Independent School District Facilities Committee, Coggin Elementary School Campus Improvement Team, Brownwood Community Advisory Council for the Benefit of TYC Youth and past President of the Brownwood Kiwanis Club.

Fryar earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas.

Fryar and his wife, Dianne, reside in Brownwood, Texas and have five children.
