BRMC Volunteer Martin Schneider was honored as the April 2014 Volunteer of the Month during the May 2014 Executive Board Meeting of the Brownwood Regional Medical Center Volunteers. He has been a volunteer for over 15 months having joined the organization in January 2013. Martin is a familiar face in the BRMC Emergency Room waiting area where he volunteers. He has over 250 hours of Volunteer Service at BRMC.
When asked why he became a BRMC Volunteer, Martin explained that he was a member of the BRMC Senior Circle Program and learned of the volunteering opportunities at BRMC. He also was encouraged to become a volunteer by Kathryn Roberts the BRMC Volunteer Vice President of Membership during 2012 – 2013. Martin enjoys assisting patients and visitors to the BRMC Emergency Room waiting area. He would recommend volunteering at BRMC to everyone in the Brownwood area.The Volunteer of the Month Award is awarded by the BRMC Volunteers each month during the year. Recipients of the award receive recognition and lunch at the Executive Board Meeting held in the month following the month for which they are selected. Each BRMC Volunteer of the Month recipient is recognized with a framed Volunteer of the Month Certificate, a ‘For the Love of a Child’ pin which represents the motto of The Texas Association of Healthcare Volunteers for the 2013 – 2014 Volunteer Year and a ‘BRMC Volunteer of the Month’ bar.
