BRMC Volunteer JoAnn Goodwin was honored as the October 2014 Volunteer of the Month during the November 2014 executive board meeting of the Brownwood Regional Medical Center Volunteers. She has been a volunteer for over 9 years having joined the organization in May 2005.
JoAnn currently serves as the president elect for the 2014 – 2015 BRMC Volunteer year. She is the District 6 Representative to The Texas Association of Healthcare Volunteer Organization and has been a representative to this state level organization since 2010. JoAnn also is the chairperson of the day surgery volunteer service area and also volunteers in the surgery waiting volunteer service area. She is a past president of the BRMC Volunteers having served in this responsibility from 2011 – 2012. Over the years, JoAnn has volunteered in the emergency room waiting, intensive care waiting, information desk, junior volunteer coordination, day surgery waiting, and surgery waiting volunteer service areas. She has over 11,000 hours of volunteer service at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
The Volunteer of the Month Award is awarded by the BRMC Volunteers each month during the year. Recipients of the award receive recognition and lunch at the executive board meeting held in the month following the month for which they are selected. Each BRMC Volunteer of the Month recipient is recognized with a framed Volunteer of the Month certificate, a ‘Volunteers, Brighten Our World!’ pin, and a ‘BRMC Volunteer of the Month’ service bar.The BRMC Volunteers are always excited to meet area individuals who are interested in becoming a volunteer.
