fishingThe water level at Lake Brownwood has fallen off again this week to its lowest level of the year.

Lake Brownwood is currently 6.9′ below the spillway level according to the data at Brown County Water Improvement District website.  There is only a slight chance of rain in the forecast over the next few days.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department released its weekly fishing report for freshwater lakes in Texas.

The fishing report for Lake Brownwood is as follows:

Water stained; 66 degrees. Black bass are fair on buzzbaits, June bug worms, frogs, Persuader crankbaits, and redbug and watermelon red Grande Bass 4″ Trickster worms on 3/16oz. jigs along docks, around rocks, and over brush piles in 8 – 15 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies and crankbaits off lighted docks at night. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are fair on cut bait and nightcrawlers over baited holes in 12 – 15 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
