Despite recent rainfall, water levels at Lake Brownwood have fallen off a bit from last week.
Lake Brownwood is currently 6.8′ below the spillway level according to the Brown County Water Improvement District website. More rain is forecast to be on the way so this could change in the coming week depending on how much rain falls.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department released its weekly fishing report for freshwater lakes in Texas.
The fishing report for Lake Brownwood is as follows:
Black bass to 4 pounds are fair on buzzbaits, June bug worms, frogs, Persuader crankbaits, and redbug and watermelon red Grande Bass 4″ Trickster worms on 3/16oz. jigs along docks, around rocks, and over brush piles in 8 – 15 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies and crankbaits off lighted docks at night. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish to 3 pounds are fair on cut bait and nightcrawlers over baited holes in 12 – 15 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
