TFRWPresBCRWPres071312A special guest speaker, President of the Texas Federation of Republican Women Carolyn Hodges, was featured at Friday’s Brown County Republican Women’s luncheon.

Hodges encouraged members to be active in getting others to the polls during the 2012 elections and to take part in grass roots efforts to further their party.

“Focus on the outcome, imagine the impact,” Hodges reminded members of the 2012 slogan of the TFRW which encourages members to unite in their political efforts.  Hodges stated that with hard work and unity, Republicans hope to see an increase in representation, not only in the presidential race, but also in Congress.

“Focus and working together will help us accomplish this,” said Hodges.

Hodges also commended the BCRW for their recent donation to the Wounded Warrior project.  In addition to this donation, members of the group brought boxes of cookies to the meeting which will be donated to the Brown County Boys and Girls Club.

Hodges who lives in Houston, served the Spring Branch Independent School District for 30 years as a History/Government teacher and department chairman. Following her retirement from SBISD, she was a staff member for both Congressmen Bill Archer and John Culberson. She is married to Tom Hodges who owns Hodges Southwest, Inc., a Texas-based electrical supply company. Carolyn Hodges is the former President of the Greater Houston Council of Federated Republican Women, her Houston club Village Republican Women, and in 2009, the Federation named her one of “Ten Outstanding” Republican Women in Texas.
