Today Texas Farm Bureau Friends of Agriculture Fund endorsed Dr. Dawn Buckingham for Texas Senate District 24. Jessica Richmond, Farm Bureau State District 7 Director read the official endorsement as follows.
“Our member families are impressed with her common sense approach to the issues facing Texas and about her conservative values. Dawn has a passion, not only for our great state, but also its farmers and ranchers. She realizes that they are the lifeblood of our state and economy.We know that she will listen to the concerns of farmers, ranchers and rural Texans. She strongly supports property rights, Farm Bureau’s position on farmer’s and rancher’s position on right of capture, senior water rights and other issues vital to Texas. Dr. Buckingham has ideas on how to grow our economy. Clearly, she intends to take an active role in minding the business of the budget and spending.
Farm Bureau members in District 24 are impressed with her qualifications and desire to work hard for Texas.”
Dr. Buckingham thanked Farm Bureau Ag Fund for their endorsement.
“You are going to find that I am a girl with a very rural heart. I am here to defend our private property rights, to defend our right of capture. I’ll be a strong proponent on the second amendment. We will be sure that our parents are empowered in their children’s education, that we fight for the unborn and we stand on traditional family values,” said Buckingham. “I have a strong history of being a conservative fighter at the capital, have an open door policy. I am going to be here, ya’ll are going to know me, I am going to be your representative.”
The Texas State Senate race now being between two candidates involved in a runoff election, Buckingham and current State Representative Susan King.
Texas State Senate District 24 includes Bell, Blanco, Brown, Burnet, Callahan, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Erath, Gillespie, Hamilton, Kerr, Kimble, Lampasas, Llano, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Mills, San Saba and Taylor counties. The current senator of District 24 is Troy Fraser.
