The Texas 4-H Conference Center will be hosting its annual Fun Club camp for senior adults 50 and over this fall.  Presented by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, the camp will be held October 19-23.

The Texas 4-H Conference Center is 11 miles north of Brownwood on Texas Highway 279 and one mile east on Farm Road 3021. It encompasses about 78 acres of wooded hills framed by a mile of the Lake Brownwood shoreline.

“The camp offers fun educational sessions and activities for senior men and women,” said center director Mark Carroll. “Opportunities this year include hands-on learning and educational sessions on sewing, winemaking, crafts, sport fishing, healthy living and more.

Carroll said this year’s camp theme will be ‘Welcome to the Circus,’ and the final evening of the camp will include a closing banquet and entertainment.

“We want attendees to enjoy the camp and, at the same time, be exposed to a lot of practical, high-quality information they can apply in their own lives,” Carroll said.

Carroll said the amenities at the center are a large part of what makes the Fun Club camp fun.

“We have an array of both indoor and outdoor activities,” he said. “There are lighted tennis courts, horseshoe pits, and volleyball and shuffleboard courts. We also have areas where attendees can play dominoes, billiards, cards and other table games. There’s something to meet just about any interest or activity level.”

The registration fee includes all meals, refreshments and housing accommodations. The cost is $220 per person for the dorm area and $260 per person for a semiprivate room in the Leadership Lodge.

To make reservations, contact AgriLife Extension 4-H center assistant Jenny Wilder at 325-784-5482 or email Texas4-HCenter@ag.tamu.edu. Fees are due upon arrival.
