On August 17, 2011, the Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas Board held its regular scheduled meeting at the Taylor County Plaza, 400 Oak Street, Abilene, Texas. Tim Manley, owner/Vice President of Wind Clean Corp. of Coleman, TX. was elected as Chairman; Steve Cunningham, Sr. Vice-President with First Financial Bank was chosen as Vice-Chair; and Laura Terhune Director of the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce will serve as Secretary-Treasurer.
The new Chairman of the Board, Tim Manley, received a BSBA, Business Data Processing, from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, K.S. in 1976. In 1976, Mr. Manley was employed by General Dynamics, Ft. Worth. He was responsible for developing and maintaining programs for the F-16 Fighter Project. From 1978 to 1983, Mr. Manley managed the First United Bank’s programming staff in Ft. Worth. In 1983, Tim as owner of Continental Water Conditioning/Water & Power Technologies was responsible for sales and management of 6 regional offices.
In 2007, Mr. Manley had the opportunity to become part owner and general manager for Wind Clean Corp, located in Coleman, Texas and Clean Blast Services. Both companies provide services to industrial markets. Wind Clean provides surface preparation, coating applications, and installation of internal components in wind towers to generate electricity for two of the largest companies in the wind energy industry. Clean Blast Services provides a special chemical process for stainless steel rail tank cars that are used for certain chemicals and food grade products for 80% of the U.S. market.
Mr. Manley’s community commitments include Tech Prep Board, Coleman County Foundation Board, Christian Family Ministries Board, Coleman Economic Development Corporation Board, and Coleman Business Alliance Board. Chairman Manley said, “As Board Chair, I believe I can help provide the leadership to improve our workforce in this region with different education and training programs. The Board must provide goals that are in sync with the regional businesses that it serves. It is critical we target the programs to meet their needs. As one of those regional businesses, I can provide valuable input to insure we meet our goals for the region.”
