Five Brownwood ISD schools including Coggin Elementary, East Elementary, Intermediate School, Northwest Elementary, and Woodland Heights Elementary joined forces with the Team Leap Counseling Program to orchestrate an evening designed to welcome and support children and their families as we celebrate the Christmas holidays.
Santa Claus made a special appearance at this first ever program, taking time to pose with each child and family. Cookies, cocoa, and popcorn were enjoyed by all as a Christmas movie was shown. Families took the opportunity to craft special ornaments for their trees, and listen to stories read by several hometown heroes, including Mayor Haynes, Coach Howard, Pastor Skaggs and many more.
Toys for Kids assisted by accepting registrations from those needing assistance, and our stockings were filled as the Team Leap counselors gathered information as to what parents feel would be most supportive to their student’s success. Hundreds of families packed the Intermediate/Coggin cafeteria, while Administrative staff and general education counselors from each school played an active role in welcoming the families and facilitating the events.Decked out in their comfiest pajamas, children from each school declared they had a great time celebrating the holidays with the school staff, teachers, and the Team Leap team.
Brownwood ISD and Team Leap would like to offer a big “Thank You” to schools, families, students, PTO organizations, and staff that made this night successful!
