Susan Lynn (Melton) Brown was born April 30, 1949 in Richmond, Virginia to Grayson and Roxie Melton.  On May 18, 2020, following a brave fight against cancer, she passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family.

Graveside service for Susan will be Friday, May 22, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Jordan Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home in Early.

Susan graduated from Central High School in San Angelo, Texas in 1967 and attended Angelo State University.   She enjoyed a long career (32 years) as an Ophthalmic Technician working for Dr. Stephen Kelly in Brownwood.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren.  Susan spent her very best days enjoying life in the country, hunting and fishing, and working in her yard.  She was a member of New Hope Bible Church in San Angelo.

She is survived by her daughters Michele Brown Alexander and husband Bruce, Misty Brown Louthan and husband Shelby; grandchildren Cade and Cole Alexander and Campbell Louthan; sisters Charlotte Caffey, and Brenda Dougan McCurdy and husband Scooter; numerous extended family members; and dear friend, Carolyn Pounds.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Neal Dougan.
