LewisSueSue Walker “Thingy” Lewis, age 62, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, April 24, 2014 at her home near Brookesmith, Texas.

She was born on May 22, 1951 in Abilene, Texas to Forrest and Helen Walker. They moved to Cross Plains when she was four years old. She graduated from Cross Plains High School and then from college, Summa Cum Laude, at Midwestern University in Wichita Falls in 1973.  She was active in sports, continuing to play softball and volleyball as long as she could.

Sue met her best friend, T.J. Lewis, in 1983 and they married in 1985. She taught school in Childress, and worked in various sales positions until 1983, when she went to work for 3M Company. She took disability leave when she could no longer stand or walk and retired in 2012. She never lost her sense of humor or her desire to help others. She spent many hours on the phone notifying people about meetings. One of the things liked best was doing The Children’s Moment at Central United Methodist Church. She loved her God, her family, life on The Ranch, and all the animals.

Sue is survived by her husband, T.J. Lewis; sons, Gerry Lewis and wife Eva of Azle, Jeff Lewis and wife Stephanie of Brookesmith; grandchildren, Tova Dad and husband Joe of Amarillo, Zeke Lewis and wife Allie of Amarillo, Scott Lewis and Matthew Lewis of Brookesmith, brother, Randy Walker and wife Vickie of Cross Plains; sisters-in-law, M.
