Brownwood News – The Salvation Army of Brownwood and United Way, along with help from employees of Kohler, are sponsoring the Stuff the Bus event Friday, August 9, at Wal Mart in Brownwood.  “From 10 to 6 Friday we will have a school bus in between the two doors and so we’re asking people to come and help us stuff the bus with school supplies,” said Stacy Tennison, Service Center Director for Salvation Army.

This Saturday, August 10, from 10 am to 2 pm, the Salvation Army will host the Back to School Bash at the Salvation Army headquarters, 403 Lakeway Drive in Brownwood.  This is for those who have pre-qualified and pre-registered.

This year the Salvation Army is helping 375 kids have what they need to start the school year off right.   The kids and their families will be treated Saturday to fun games, food, booths and door prizes.  “We are doing a waiting list so if we are blessed with a ton of extra supplies from Stuff the Bus, then we will be able to give those on the waiting list school supplies also,” Tennison said.
