Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees honored students and a staff member with certificates of excellence for their achievements at their regular meeting of the BISD board on Monday evening.
Those honored included the following:
BHS HOSA State and National Qualifiers – Abigail Benson (State and National Qualifier: Top 10% in the State on the Health Care Issues Exam – 4th out of 330 at State), Tucker Roberts (State and National Qualifier: 2nd at State in Extemporaneous Writing), Cooper Donathan (State and National Qualifier: Health Issues Exam – 38th out of 330 at State), Hannah Angeles (State and National Qualifier: 4th at State in Veterinary Assisting), Elizabeth Aleman-Martinez (HOSA State Qualifier: 6th at State in Personal Care). Trejouir Wilson – BHS Lady Lions Basketball: Recognized for her many outstanding accomplishments on the Brownwood Lady Lions Varsity Basketball Team (All Time Leading Scorer in BHS Lady Lion History, Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All- State Team, Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State Team & Legacy Team 1st Team, Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All Region Team, Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All Star Team, 1st Team All Big Country Super Team, All Big Country 4A-6A District MVP, FCA All Star Participant). Brownwood ISD Superintendent Dr. Young also recognized several upcoming events in which BHS students will compete:
- BHS Lady Lions Softball Playoff Games against Wylie at ACU: Game 1 is Thursday, May 12th at 7:30 p.m., Game 2 is Saturday, May 14th at 3:00 p.m. and Game 3 (if needed) will follow 30 min. after the final pitch.
- BHS Track and Field athletes Keira Young, Chevy Robertson, and Kyla McFarden will compete in the state meet Saturday in Austin. They are competing in the 800, 400, and pole vault.
- BHS Theatre students will perform their one-act play at the State Competition May 24th.
