Brownwood News – The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has outlined a threat area for strong to severe storms in the Central Texas area between 6:00 pm today and 6:00 am Wednesday.  Southern Brown, southern Coleman and Concho counties are in a Marginal Risk for severe storms which is on the low end of the severe threat scale.

The threat for severe storms increases south of Brownwood in Brady, San Saba, Goldthwaite and farther south in the overnight hours Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

What to Expect:  Quarter to half-dollar size hail, winds of 60-70 mph, isolated tornadoes can’t be ruled out.  Heavy rain is expected to accompany the storms.

When:  As soon as sunset Tuesday evening, more likely during the overnight and stormy on Wednesday morning as you go to work and school.

How much rain:  Totals from 2.00 to 3.00 inches are being projected.

Preparedness:  Have a way to receive weather warnings TONIGHT and WEDNESDAY MORNING.
