A strong cold front will move through west central Texas tonight, ushering in much colder temperatures and gusty north winds.
Temperatures on Friday will slowly drop into the upper 20s to mid 30s by late afternoon. North winds of 15 to 25 mph will result in wind chill values ranging from the mid teens across the Big Country to the mid 20s across the interstate 10 corridor. High temperatures both Saturday and Sunday will be in the 30s across much of the area, with overnight lows in the upper 20s and lower 30s.
A wintry mix of rain, freezing rain, and sleet is forecast across much of west central Texas Friday through Sunday. At this time, accumulations are expected to remain light, mainly affecting elevated surfaces such as power lines, bridges and overpasses, and vehicles.
The chance of precipitation Friday is 70% and 50% over the weekend.
