Brownwood News – The Brown County Sheriff’s Department responded to the following calls for service in recent days.

On Tuesday, September 17, at 10:31 hours, a Deputy was dispatched to County Road 381 in regards to an animal complaint. The Deputy spoke to a woman who said she had received a call from her neighbor advising dogs had attacked her sheep. An information report was taken.

On Tuesday, September 17, at 08:30, a Deputy was patrolling in the area of Brook Valley Drive in May. The Deputy located a golf cart, which had been left at the intersection of Brook Valley Drive and Glen Oaks. The Deputy was unable to locate the owner of the golf cart. The cart was taken into custody and placed at the Brown County Law Enforcement Center until the owner can be found. A found property report was taken.

On September 17, a Sergeant responded to a suspicious person call on Mountain View Drive. After confirming the suspicious persons, a woman and man were permitted to be on the property. The man was found to have active warrants and they were traveling in a stolen pickup. The man fled the scene on foot prior to learning of the warrant. The woman was found to be in possession of 0.2 grams of methamphetamine in her purse. She was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance and the stolen pickup was recovered.

On September 17, a Sergeant responded to a report that a dog had attacked goats on a neighboring property. The Sgt. observed injuries on the goats and the dog owner was issued a citation for a dog not vaccinated.
