Stephen Ray Nichols, 50, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011 at his home after a brave battle with cancer. He was born July 13, 1960 to Roland H. and Mary Nichols. Stephen graduated from Brownwood High in 1979. He was a carpenter and a member of Haven of Hope Church. He shared his life with longtime companion Jana Quick along with his “best buddy” his dog “L.B.”
Survivors include his companion Jana Quick of Brownwood; mother Mary Nichols of Early; brother Larry Nichols and wife Kay and Kerrville; three sisters Patsy Biggs and husband Bill of Temple; Paula Kennedy and husband Jess of Early and Susan Nix of Lake Whitney; one step son John Robert “Bubba” Quick of Brownwood and a step daughter Amber Dawn Quick of Houston and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Roland H. Nichols and sister Donna Nichols Lockett.
Graveside Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 4, 2011 at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Brian Hall officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Heartland Funeral Home.
