Stephanie Steel, age 51, of Brownwood, died Friday, December 27, 2019 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

The family will host a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2019 at the Brazos Street Community Church, 805 Brazos Street, in Coleman with Rev. Felix Diaz officiating.

She was born Stephanie Ann Ruegamer on December 1, 1968 in Pensacola, Florida to Dana Ruegamer and Linda Pendegrass Ruegamer.  Stephanie grew up in Virginia and graduated from Salem High School.  After moving to Brownwood, Stephanie enrolled at the Ranger College School of Nursing where she obtained her L.V.N.  She worked at Holiday Hill Nursing Home in Coleman for eight years where she loved and cared for multiple patients.  Stephanie loved to learn about history and was religious about watching the history channel.  She also enjoyed playing board games, watching movies, and spending time with her daughter, Cassidy.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Linda Ruegamer.

Stephanie is survived by her daughter, Cassidy Steel of Brownwood; her father, Dana Ruegamer of Virginia; multiple cousins; and extended family and friends at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.
