Entries for the 15th Annual Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit are due this weekend as organizers get set for another great show.
Artists can begin dropping off artwork Friday, January 25th from 5 – 6:30 PM at the Depot Civic and Cultural Center. Artwork can also be dropped off at the Depot on Saturday, January 26th from 9 AM to 12 noon.
The juror, Billy Hassell, will begin judging entries on Saturday from 12 noon to 4 PM.
Hassell is a native Texan and artist who has painted nature inspired works for over 25 years. His colorful and expressive artworks, frequently featuring birds and indigenous plants and animals of Texas and the Gulf Coast region have been exhibited nationwide and are included in the permanent collections of the Houston Museum of Art, the Menil Collection, the Fort Worth Modern, The Dallas Museum of Art and numerous other public and private collections.
The exhibit itself will open to the public February 3rd through 15th at the Depot Civic and Cultural Center in Brownwood.

The Salon des Refusés will open once again to artists to display their works that do not make the 2013 Stars of Texas Exhibit and will be held at the Art Center which is located at 215 Fisk Avenue. An art talk will be presented by Randy Hall, which will be free to Stars of Texas entrants. The Art Talk will be held at the Art Center, 215 Fisk, on Saturday at 1:30 PM.
