Howard Payne University recently donated a large, inflatable football helmet, used at home football games, to the Sidney Independent School District. Sidney, a rural community in Comanche County, has a six-man football team.
The helmet will be repainted and used at Sidney football games.
“We appreciate the donation and look forward to using it on Friday nights,” said Doug Bowden, Sidney superintendent. “Some of our players have seen it and are excited about it. We also look forward to taking our students to some HPU games as well.”
