Brownwood High School student, 16-year-old Austin Snyder, will be playing in the Dallas Cup April 1st- 7th). This is the largest soccer tournament in the United States and the second largest in the world.
Austin, who is a starting midfielder for Coach JB Gibbs on the Brownwood Lions Varsity Soccer Team, is also a midfielder/striker on a select team in Harker Heights (TCSC Cavalry). The Cavalry, who won state, will be competing in the Dallas Cup. Teams from all over the world will be playing in this tournament.
Austin’s team is slated to play the California champions (Arsenal FC) on Sunday, the Michigan champs (GCU Dynamo Premier) on Monday, and the Mississippi champions (Waza FC West Black) on Wednesday. Other games during the week will depend on their success in these first three games. The games will be played at the FC Dallas Soccer Complex in Frisco, and at Richland College .
