As expected, an overnight snowstorm blanketed Brown County with most areas reporting between 1 – 3 inches of snow across the county.

Brownwood ISD canceled all classes for the day on Friday while May ISD, Zephyr ISD, Bangs ISD, and Cross Plain ISD all started classes at 10 AM.

There were no reports of major accidents as a result of the snow, but there were a few reports of vehicles running off of the road on some rural areas.  A few power outages were also reported around the Lake Brownwood area, but Oncor crews were working to restore those customers.

The snow began to melt quickly as the temperature topped the freezing mark and the sun began to shine.

Many school kids and residents were busy enjoying the snow while it lasted by building snowmen and having snowball fights.

Below are more photos of the snow and Brownwood residents enjoying it on Friday morning.
