A small fire broke out in an unoccupied chemistry lab at Brownwood High School, Friday afternoon.
The Brownwood Fire Department was contacted and the school was evacuated, though most students were already out of the building attending a pep rally.
The fire appears to have been located in a trash can inside the lab. No one was injured, and only minor damage to the trash can is reported.
The Brownwood Fire Department was on the scene clearing smoke and investing the possible cause Friday afternoon.
