SKYWARNjBrown County Skywarn, the area’s weather spotters, will have a Skywarn Weather School on Saturday, February 2nd at 9am at Newman Hall in Brownwood Room 136. Newman Hall is behind the Douglas MacArthur Academy of Freedom, across from Brookshire’s grocery at Coggin and Austin in Brownwood.

Brownwood Amateur Radio Club President Dale Seaburg says, “Brown County’s Weather Spotters are required to attend, but it’s open to anyone interested in weather or becoming a weather spotter.”

The Skywarn Weather School is an annual school co-sponsored by the Brownwood Amateur Radio Club (BARC), Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES), and the National Weather Service (NWS) office in San Angelo.

The class is free and open to the public, and is usually taught by NWS Warning Coordination Meteorologist Hector Guererro.
