Brownwood News – Another skimming device has been found in Brownwood at a convenience store in the 1200 block of Austin Avenue.

Wednesday, July 10, at approximately 5:40 pm, Brownwood Police met with a pump technician who explained he was contacted to service a fuel pump after clerks reported the key pad was not working.  When the technician opened the pump door, he located the skimming device which was spliced into the wiring of the system.  It is unknown how long the device was in place or how many potential victims there could be.

Skimming devices are used by criminals to capture data from the magnetic stripe on the back of a credit card or debit card.
