Brownwood News – Wednesday, April 8, Brown County Sheriff’s Deputies and Brownwood Police Officers arrested five people within 1,000 feet of Woodland Heights Elementary.
According to the Brown County Sheriff’s Department, a search and arrest warrant was issued on April 8 for a residence on Brooks Avenue. Five arrests were made.
Charles Caldwell, 33, (above) was charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. According to Brown County jail records, Caldwell was still jailed as of Tuesday, April 14, on bonds totaling $60,000.
Anna Marie Simons, 32, (above) was charged with possession of a controlled substance. According to jail records, Simons was still jailed as of Tuesday, April 14, on a bond of $15,000.
Jessica Lynn Gowin, 29, (above) was charged with possession of a controlled substance. According to jail records, Gowin was released from jail on April 9 on a $10,000 bond.
Wanted person Heath Dwayne Dozier, 36, (above) was charged with criminal mischief. According to jail records, Dozier was released from jail on April 9 on a $5,000 bond.
Wanted person Arthur Lopez, 33, (above) was charged with parole violation. According to jail records, Lopez was still jailed as of Tuesday, April 14.
According to the arrest report, police searched, found and seized 40 grams of methamphetamine, packaging, digital scales, hypodermic syringes and two handguns along with $2,810.00 in U.S. currency at the residence on Brooks Avenue.
In a separate case, the Brown County Sheriff’s Department, on Thursday, April 9, arrested James Virgil Bilbrey, Jr., 40, on a charge of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. Bond was set at $5,000, according to Brown County jail records. Bilbrey is also jailed on a parole warrant.
According to the arrest report, Deputy Mason Fabbiani and Investigator Carlyle Gover observed James Virgil Bilbrey (above) in the area of Waco Street. They had learned Bilbrey had a parole warrant. Bilbrey was standing next to a pickup, leaned underneath the hood. A probable cause search resulted in Gover and Deputy Marvin Simpson locating two baggies in the headlight assembly which field tested as methamphetamine, according to the arrest report. The arrest occurred approximately 970 feet from Gladys Seward Park, the report states. Bilbrey was still in Brown County Jail as of Tuesday morning, April 14.
