ReynoldsSimmieFuneral services for Simmie Colene Reynolds, age 70, of Brownwood will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 31, 2016 in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Trickham Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.  Mrs. Reynolds passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 at home surrounded by close friends and family.

Simmie Colene Talley was born December 4, 1945 in Brownwood, Texas to Segial Odene and Addie Modene (Clack) Talley.  She completed Brownwood High School and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree from Howard Payne University.  Simmie married the love of her life, Nathan C. Reynolds on June 10, 1967.  She was a lifelong member at First Christian Church and Rocky Creek Baptist Church.  After teaching school for more than 25 years, Simmie retired and spent the rest of her life enjoying her family and friends.  Nothing was better than spending time with her grandchildren, and she made a special effort to attend each and every function they had.  Simmie was a kind and caring person, and she lightened the lives of all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, Nathan Reynolds of Brownwood; son, Travis Reynolds and wife, Pamela of Early; daughter Laura Thornhill and husband, Justin of Early; sisters, Norma Denison of Brownwood and Frances Kelly of Early; grandchildren Brittany Merritt and husband, Cooper; Ryan Reynolds, Matthew Reynolds, Weston Thornhill and Brantlee Colene Thornhill; nieces and nephews, Kathy Hampton, Vikki Firth, Tammy Eoff, Cliff Denison, Matt Kelly, and Rhonda Petty; many great nieces and nephews who were special to her; as well as cousins and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Segial Odene Talley and Addie Modene and Bill Stanley; aunts, Sybil Johnson, Gladys Mahan, Lorene Pentecost and Lucille Herring; great-great niece, Meagan Miller; parents-in-law, Clyde and Opal Reynolds; and brothers-in-law, Tommy Kelly, Clifford Denison and Gary Reynolds.
