The Shockwaves defeated the Living Legends in the 2015 6th Grade Flag Football Super Bowl game held October 7th at Gordon Wood Stadium.

Brownwood Intermediate School students, parents, faculty and staff filled the stands for the event which also featured 5th and 6th grade cheerleaders, a performance of the National Anthem by the 5th and 6th grade choir, and a halftime show featuring the BHS Band and BHS Lionettes.

After winning the coin toss, the Living Legends chose to receive for the first half. Alex Reyna scored the first points for the Living Legends on a 20 yard touchdown run.  Following the touchdown, Christian Kinzler was denied the 2-point conversion leaving the score, Living Legends: 6 and Shockwaves: 0.

After the kickoff, Jakob Hataway answered right back with a touchdown for the Shockwaves, tying the game at 6.  On the next possession Randall Rumfield had a pick that he ran in for another 6 but the play was called back. With the Shockwaves retaining possession, Coleman Bohn took the ball into the end zone for another Shockwave touchdown.  Once again the 2-point conversion was no good ending the first half with the score, Shockwaves: 12 and Living Legends: 6.

Shockwaves received to start the second half and right away Weston Burns scored for the Shockwaves on back-to-back receptions from Jakob Hataway. Ryan Duffy followed up with the 2-point conversion giving the Shockwaves a 14-point lead over the Living Legends.

Looking to begin a comeback drive, Cameron Phipps returned the following kickoff 20 yards for the Living Legends.  The Living Legends were unable to gain any momentum as Jakob Hataway intercepted a ball intended for Ethan Pesina, giving possession back to the Shockwaves.

Following the turnover, Jackson Tucker gets a big reception for 40 yards for the Shockwaves, though the drive was cut short by a pass that was broken up by Luke Moss on a 4th down play that would have given the Shockwaves the 1st down.  Levi Blaine drew the pass interference giving the ball back to the Living Legends with great field position.

With time running out, the Living Legends needed to put some points on the board to stay in the game.  Christian Kinzler made a 30 yard run followed up by a complete pass to Cameron Phipps, also for 30 yards.  This set up Nicholas Moreno who was able to connect to Alex Reyna for the touchdown and the resulting successful 2-point conversion.

With the Shockwaves up by 6, Jackson Tucker received the kickoff and only two plays later, out of nowhere, Luke Moss had a key interception that set the Living Legends up for a possible win.  The Living Legends continued a frantic drive down the field with the help of an Erik Butts 20 yard run. In the final moments of the game, Aaron Sanchez ruins the hopes of a Living Legend come back with an interception which ended the game and crowned the Shockwaves as the 2015 6th Grade Flag Football Super Bowl Champions.  The final score was Shockwaves: 20, and Living Legends: 14.
