Our loved one, Shirley Ann Turner, age 77, of Brookesmith started her eternal life with Christ Jesus in Heaven on Thursday, November 3, 2016.
Funeral Services for Shirley will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2016, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Craig Pender officiating; burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 4-6 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
Shirley was born in Perry, New York on October 17, 1939, to Bruce and Lenora Scott. Shirley married James Turner on November 28, 1973. She lived in Abilene for over 20 years before moving to the Brownwood area; where she and her husband, James, and daughter, Nicole have lived for the last 23 years.
Shirley and James spent 19 years working in prison ministry at the T.R. Havins Unit in Brownwood, teaching classes and helping with Sunday Morning Chapel with Chaplain Craig Pender and wife, Genivea.
Shirley leaves behind her husband of 43 years, James Turner; children, Melody Brooks and husband Stan, Charlene Martelle and husband Don, Vicki Riley and husband Randy, Terry Clark and wife Laura, Tammy Clark, and Nicole Turner Whitley; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
