Funeral services for Shirlene A. (Cox) Conley, 75, of Brownwood will be held Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 2 PM at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday.  Mrs. Conley passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017.

Shirlene Annette Fowler was born September 28, 1941 in Bangs, Texas to Wylie Monroe “Jack” and Oretha Mae (Barnes) Fowler.  She spent her childhood in Bangs and attended Bangs schools.  Shirlene was a woman of many careers including beautician, LVN and prison correctional officer just to name a few.  Perhaps her most loved one was nursing in which she excelled as one of the best nurses ever according to her patients.  She never met a stranger, and she possessed a fierce determination who feared nothing and no one.  Shirlene was very independent and perservered at anything she took on.  She loved reading her Bible and playing Bingo; but mostly she loved her children, grandchildren and family fiercely and was their biggest champion.  Shirlene was a longtime resident at 2200 Brady Avenue in Brownwood where she shared may good times with her best friends, Karen Petty, Nina Baker, Cynthia Durden, Donna Smith, Joy Ritchie and Mary Steel.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, Jerry Conley; children Ladara Leach of Kerrville, Maleia Solis and husband Rey of Bangs and Ira David Cox of Brownwood; grandchildren Angela Leach, Christopher and Leslie Leach, Kimberly Leach, Ryan and Sierra Aguirre, Leah’Shae and Ryan Martinez, Davey Cox and Nathan Cox; great grandchildren Jose, Maria, Armando, Daisy and Peyton; sisters Carrol June Prince Wells of Bangs and Carmen Prince Riches of Ohio; nieces and nephews Michael and Ashley Fletcher, Jennifer and Chris Brothers, Tyon Smith, Toby Smith and Kylie Riches, and numerous cousins and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Nathaniel Aguirre and aunt Ouida Seymore.
