Sheryl M. Clopton, 60 of Rowlett, TX, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at her home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 12pm at the Emanual Chapel United Methodist Church located at 900 Beaver St., Brownwood, TX.

Sheryl was born July 22, 1957 in Brownwood, TX. Parents are Joseph Patrick Jacquet (bio), William F. Britton (adopted) and Betty Hester-Shipman. Sheryl received her primary education from Brownwood Independent Schools. She furthered her education through community college course work and enrolled in the Potters Wheel Bible College in Dallas,TX.  Sheryl then started a career in Banking/Savings and Loan, eventually becoming a Branch Manager.  She then pursued a career with the United States Postal Service with 20 plus years of service.  Sheryl was a woman who loved her family and friends, but more so she loved God.  She was a faithful member of “Church in the City” in Rowlett, TX, where she was a choir member, church receptionist, and worked in Mission Outreach. Her contributions to the lives of others include volunteering with the Salvation Army, Children with Aids, and the elderly.  She had a servants heart, loved to sing, a lover of nutrition and was a darn good cook!  Her hobbies were crafting, gardening and flower arrangements. She also designed pottery and she was just an all around “Handy Woman”. Family members called her “Lady MacGyver.” 

Sheryl was preceded in death by biological father, Joseph Patrick Jacquet, mother, Betty Hester Shipman, and brother, Joseph Michael Britton.

Brothers: Dwaine Gallian (Patsy) of Frisco, TX, Eric Jacquet of Arizona, James Carey of Port Arthur, TX, William Britton II (Kim) of Brownwood, TX, Brian Jacquet of Houston, TX, a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and best friend Carolyn Campbell.  Services are entrusted to Brownwood Funeral Home.
