Sheryl Dawn Gilmore Scott (aka Marm), 60, was born to us all on October 13th,1957. She transitioned at her home on November 2, 2017. A celebration of her life will be held at 11am on Wednesday November 8, 2017. Glenmore Park-85 Paint Rock Road San Angelo, TX 76903.
Sheryl was born in Snyder, TX. She moved to Odessa at an early age and received her education from Odessa Public Schools, including Odessa High School. She was a dedicated nurse, and cared for people for many years. Sheryl loved roses and she loved pink. She loved to shop, go places, embroider, sew, craft, eat ice cream, Free Fall to Tom Petty and play bingo. Sheryl was very unconventional, intelligent, quick witted and as artlessly funny as it gets. No one was safe from “The Claw!” Sheryl loved people in general, but most of all, Sheryl loved her children. Her love, intelligence, eccentricities, and silly sense of humor will be greatly missed, but live on in her children and grandchildren.
Sheryl was preceded in change by her beloved son: Daryl Isaac Griffith (aka Bugs Bunny), father: Jimmy “Pappy” Gilmore, sister in-law: Nancy Scott, and nephew: Taylor Scott.
Left to carry on her legacy and cherish her memories are her loving Daughters: Erika Nicole Griffith (aka Smarm) of Pueblo, Co., Carrie Dawn Kent (aka Worm) of Austin TX, her lively and precocious Grandchildren: Chloe’ Adams, Erynn Boe, Mason Boe, Adia Boe, and “Peanuts”Kent (debuting in July). Parents: Jim and Pat Scott (aka Mimi) of San Antonio, TX,. Brothers: Shay Scott of San Angelo, TX, Joe Scott of Brownwood, Larry Scott of San Angelo, Gary Scott of Virginia, Mathew Gilmore of Webster TX, and Mark Gilmore of Houston. Sheryl also had nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, who she held as dear as she was to them.
Pine for your lifetime, ash for your children, and oak for your grandchildren. Mom, Sheryl, Grandma Summer, you were forever young and so very, very loved. You will also be so very, very missed.
