Monday Morning Update: Brown County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect and victims of the Saturday morning double homicide which is currently under investigation.
According to Brown County Sheriff George Caldwell, the suspect, 17-year-old Cody Michael Flores, shot his father, Abuith Andrian Flores (43), and his step mother, Ophelia V. Lucio (53) at 2:30 A.M. on September 17, 2016 at their residence on County Road 551.
It appears the victims were shot in their sleep, according to Caldwell. The motive at this time appears to be a disagreement due to Cody Flores wanting to move out. Court records indicate Flores had been considering killing the victims for two weeks and carried out the crime with a 0.22 caliber rifle. Flores initially reported that an unknown subject had “broken into the home, held him captive in his room in a ploy to get away with the homicides,” according to the affidavit.
Update: Brown County Sheriff’s Office released the identity of the 17-year-old male who confessed to killing his father and step-mother. Cody Michael Flores was booked into the Brown County Jail on Saturday, September 17th, charged with capital murder of multiple persons. Flores was being held in lieu of $500,000 bond as of Sunday.
