Brownwood News – The Brown County Sheriff’s Department responded to the following calls for service in recent days:
On Wednesday, July 3, an SO Lieutenant met with a woman in regards to a rabies exposure. The woman was explained the quarantine procedures and was also provided a copy of it. A report was taken.
On Friday, July 5, a Deputy was dispatched to Half Moon Circle in regards to an animal running at large. The deputy spoke to a woman who said she is house sitting at the residence and a stray dog had killed several chickens. An information report was taken.
On July 6, a deputy noticed a vehicle driving on Highway 279. The vehicle’s passenger side tires stayed on the shoulder of the road for several hundred feet. When the vehicle got onto FM 1849, the vehicle’s passenger side tires left the roadway completely for several hundred yards. The deputy stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver for Driving While Intoxicated.
On July 7, at approximately 00:59, a deputy was dispatched to the area of Highway 45 in regards to a reckless driver. According to the complainant, a dark colored pickup was trying to run her off the road. After further investigation, both vehicles drove to the Law Enforcement Center and both drivers of the vehicles were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. A report was made
On July 7, at about 05:56 hours, a deputy arrived at 10th street in Brownwood in regards to an assault. A woman stated her boyfriend assaulted her and choked her after a verbal argument.
On Sunday, July 7, a deputy issued a Criminal Trespass Warning to a man. A report was made.
On July 7, at about 15:21 hours, a deputy arrived at FM 3254 in Brownwood in regards to a vehicle theft. The deputy spoke to a man who state he thinks he knows the man who took the vehicle from his residence.
A deputy met with a complainant in reference to a sexual assault report and investigation. A report will follow.
On July 7, deputies were notified of a reckless driver on Highway 45 heading toward Brownwood. A male subject was driving toward the sheriff’s office, while being followed by another vehicle. Both vehicles were driving at a high rate of speed. Officers were able to locate the vehicles as they were pulling into the parking lot of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. After investigation, both subjects were placed in custody for Driving While Intoxicated. A report was also taken for an assault as punches were exchanged between the subjects.
