Sheriff Grubbs and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone to take care of your animals. If you own an animal that is either livestock or non-livestock, it is your responsibility to provide for them food, water and (depending on what the animal is) shelter.
Last winter was a hard winter with little moisture and it appears as if we are having another hard winter. If you own livestock you will need to supplement your grazing area with hay, grain and other minerals as needed. If your stock tanks are drying up you need to make sure there is adequate fresh water for your livestock. Failure to take care of your animals could result in criminal charges.
If you have livestock or non-livestock animals that you no longer can care for, please contact Amy Abernathy with the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center at 325-646-0617.
