According to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, Deputies arrested 61-year-old Harvey Ray Curry of Brownwood on the felony charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Possession with Intent to Promote Child Pornography. The arrest warrants for the charges were served at Brownwood Municipal Airport where Curry happened to be at the time.
Curry was arrested back in October of 2009 and charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor after an investigation by Somervell County Sheriff’s Department. A search warrant of Curry’s Brownwood home was executed during that time where deputies seized several items including computer equipment.
According to Brown County Sheriff’s investigators, the current arrest stemmed from the previous arrest and investigation. The Secret Service also conducted a forensic investigation which led to a federal charge of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
Curry is currently being held in Brown County Jail on the new charges with total bond set at $30,000.
In an unrelated case, deputies arrested 19-year-old Johnny Jose Diaz on Tuesday on an outstanding felony warrant. Upon a routine search at Brown County Jail, Diaz was found to have a small baggy of marijuana according to Sheriff’s office reports. The charge of Possession of Marijuana was added to Diaz as he was booked into jail.
