Shelia Sams of Lubbock formerly of Brownwood passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 in Lubbock TX .
Funeral Services will be held Saturday September 14, at 11 am at Little Zion Baptist Church locate at 601 Cordell st. with Rev. Jesse Turner Officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday from 5-7 pm at the Brownwood Funeral Home Chapel. Services entrusted to Brownwood Funeral Home.
Shelia was born November 18, 1963 in Galveston, TX to Georgia Mae Sams and Ciscero Gaines. Shelia moved to brownwood at an early age and would become a life long resident of Brownwood Texas. Shelia received her primary education from Brownwood Schools. soon after high school she started a career in healthcare. She cared for many people over the years as a CNA and she loved what she did. Her infectious smile would light up the room and she loved to Dance and Sing.
Shelia was preceded in death by parents, Georgia Mae Sams and Cescero Gaines.
Left to cherish her memories are: sons: Jessie Sams and wife Michele of Lubbock, Texas, Anthony DeGrate of Brownwood, long-time companion of 24 years Robert Perot of Brownwood, 3 grandchildren Arthur Tomkins, Alexis Tompkins Jaelyn Sams, 2 great grandchildren EllaRae Jones, Ava Jones and sister Nancy Johnson of Brownwood, and a host of extended family and many friends.
