BerryShannonJMemorial Service for Shannon Joseph Berry, age 73, of Lake Brownwood will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at North Lake Community Church (3131 Harbor Dr. May, Texas 76857) with Pastor Ron Keener officiating; interment will be private at a later date. No visitation will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Shannon went to be with his Heavenly Father, Wednesday, January 20, 2016. He was born to Travis and Dorthea (Rodrigue) Berry on March 15, 1942 in Donaldsonville, LA.

Shannon was a man of faith and loved serving the Lord. He loved attending and being involved with North Lake Community Church, where he led the weekly men’s bible study. Shannon retired from the oil and gas industry. He was also a family man and loved his children dearly; they were the “apples of his eye.”

He is survived by his children, James Eric Townsend of Kermit, Kelly Taylor and husband Jimmy of Lake Brownwood, Larry Hughes of Monahans, Shelly Berry of Kermit, and Wallace Joseph Berry of Ft. Worth; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Thea Young and husband Millard of Lubbock, Dianne Lancon and husband Polite of Waxahachie, and Paula Berry of South Carolina; brothers, Kirk Berry of Carlsbad, NM, John Berry and wife Lynn of Aiken, S.C., Lonnie Berry and wife Monica of Weslaco, TX; brother-in-law, Houston Hunt of Angie. LA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Dorthea Berry; sister, Travis Ann Hunt; and son, Travis David Berry, II.
