Brownwood News – The National Weather Service has a high confidence that a thunderstorm will move across Brownwood/Brown County area tonight. This may include 80 mile per hour winds, isolated tornadoes, large hail and heavy rainfall.
Residents are encouraged to ensure that they have the ability to get into a sturdy shelter if the storm becomes severe. A sturdy shelter can be anything similar to a basement, interior room, bathroom, closet or hallway. Structures that have multiple floors should provide sheltering options on the first floor away from windows. Residents in mobile homes or recreational vehicles are encouraged to seek refuge before the storm is approaching our area.
It is important to secure trampolines, lawn furniture and any other loose item as the winds with this system will most likely be high prior to, during and after the line passes. Monitor your local television and or radio stations for updated weather information as the storm approaches our area.
