Brownwood News – The following calls for service were answered by the Brownwood Police Department in recent days:
On Friday June 21, 2019, officers were dispatched to the parking lot of Walmart for a hit and run. Information was gathered on scene and a report was generated.
On 6/21/19, at approximately 1537 hrs, an officer was advised by dispatch about a subject needing a follow up phone call in reference to hindering a secured creditor. A report was generated at the complainant’s request.
On Saturday, June 22, 2019 officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2300 block of US HWY 377 S. During the traffic stop a probable cause search was conducted yielding a marijuana smoking pipe. The driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and a report was generated.
On Saturday June 22, 2019 at approximately 1245 hours, an officer arrived at the 400 block of West Commerce, after being dispatched to the business in reference to theft.
On Saturday June 22, 2019, officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Vincent Street for a report of a dog bite. When officers arrived, information was gathered and a report was generated.
On Saturday, June 22, 2019, officers responded to the intersection of 6th Street and Brady Avenue in reference to multiple subjects fighting. After speaking to all parties involved, two females were taken into custody for assault. A report was generated.
While on patrol on June 23, 2019, at approximately 0115 hours, a Brownwood PD Corporal was conducting a separate traffic stop at the 100 block of Main Street when he observed a vehicle strike a curb and believed they were intoxicated. The officer observed multiple traffic violations and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop. The driver eventually submitted at the 1900 block of Avenue H where he was taken into custody. The driver was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest/Detention in a Motor Vehicle, Driving While Intoxicated, and Duty on Striking a Fixed Object.
On Sunday, June 23, 2019, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of W. Commerce Street. A female was taken into custody for driving while license invalid with no insurance and transported to Brown County jail with no further incident.
On Saturday, June 22, 2019 an officer was dispatched to 101 Miller Drive in reference to an unwanted person. The officer arrived on scene and spoke with the complainant in reference to the situation. After an investigation was conducted, two subjects were placed under arrest for public intoxication. A report has been made.
On Sunday June 23, 2019 officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Ave C in reference to an unwanted person. During the investigation it was determined a family violence situation occurred. One individual was placed into custody and a report was generated.
On June 23, 2019 at 1219 hours, an officer was dispatched to 1600 BLK 10th Street in reference to a domestic disturbance between a client and a caretaker. One suspect arrested.
On 6/23/19, at approximately 1234 hrs, an officer was dispatched to a southern Brownwood residence in reference to a hit and run. A report was generated at the complainant’s request.
On Monday, June 24, 2019, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to a south Brownwood church for a burglary of a vehicle report. Information was gathered and a report has been generated.

On 6/25/2019 at 2100 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 1000 Blk. of Beaver St. in reference to a burglary. A report was taken to be passed on for further investigation.
