A big send-off was given to the state bound Brownwood High School Cross Country team Friday morning as they were escorted out in grand fashion by the Brownwood Fire Department.
BHS Lady Lions Cross Country team along with Dylan Person of the boys’ team qualified for state at the UIL regional meet in Lubbock last weekend by placing as a top 3 team and individual.
Parents, BHS faculty and students, the BHS band and other fans gathered to cheer the team off and held signs of encouragement.
The Lady Lions are the first BHS Cross Country team in the school’s history to make it to state.
These athletes will compete Saturday at the UIL State Meet which will be held at Old Settlers Park in Georgetown Texas.
