ParkerThe Brown County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their search for the Missing/ Endangered person, Richard (Dick) Parker.

Mr. Parker was last seen at the Mountain View Lodge area on April 25, 2010, around 5:00 a.m., by two fishermen.  At the time he was seen, he appeared to be confused or lost.  The fishermen were unaware that Mr. Parker was suffering from his medical conditions, which are Dementia, Type 2 Diabetes, and high blood pressure.  He was last seen sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot of the Mountain View Lodge.

Owners of the Mountain View Lodge discovered the vehicle unoccupied later.  The vehicle sat there for several days and no one moved the vehicle or attempted to claim the vehicle.  Unaware of the fishermen’s sighting, the lodge had the vehicle towed.  The report of a missing person did not reach the Brown County Sheriff’s Office until May 11th, after finding the vehicle in a local vehicle impound.  The Brown County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of numerous agencies and volunteers, has been searching this entire area by horse, ATV, foot, and helicopter since Wednesday, May 12th.

Sheriff Bobby Grubbs is requesting the assistance of all the citizens of Lake Brownwood, with an emphasis on the area from the Lake Bridge to Feather Bay,  with property in this area to check their property, house, out-buildings, travel trailers, or any other area that Mr. Parker might have sought shelter in.  Any citizens with neighbors who live outside of this area, but have a lake property are asked to contact their neighbor to check their property as well.

The search is scheduled to continue today in the south area of Lake Brownwood.  Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Richard (Dick) Parker is asked to contact the Brown County Sheriff’s Office at 325-646-5510.
