Local veterans and boy scouts retired the U.S. Flag at Coggin Elementary on Thursday, October 8th.
Scouts from Pack 14 in Brownwood joined VFW Members Chuck & Cindi Webb, Tommy Swingle, and Jane & James Masters in a brief ceremony, taking down the retired flag and replacing it with a new U.S. flag. Students at the school were present to observe the traditions during the ceremony. The flag will be disposed of by the veterans at a later time due to fires not being allowed on school property.Pictured above and below are the scouts and veterans during the ceremony at Coggin Elementary on Thursday.
