Shy Scott of Brownwood will be able to enjoy the Super Bowl in style. She recently won Family Services Center’s Super Bowl Bonanza basket filled with snacks, games, decorations, serving items and a football.
Scott said, “My son’s eyes really got big when he saw that football in the basket. Along with his sister, we’ve been playing a lot of football lately.”
Scott is currently taking parenting classes at Family Services Center to make her parenting even better.
“The parenting classes are interesting, and I’m enjoying them and learning a lot,” she added.
Parents who sign up for a parenting class and attend one session before February 10th will be eligible for a Smoochie Valentine Basket. When asked what that was, FSC parent advocate Judy Schneider said, “It is a basket full of love just like parents have for their children. That’s one reason they take parenting classes, to learn new ways to bond with and express their love to their kids. The basket is full of Valentine treats including chocolates, suckers, heart picture frame, pencils, decorations, and a gift card for Wal-mart.”
Parenting classes are free and meet once a week. They are available at many convenient times to accommodate parents’ schedules. There is even an online course for parents of teens that is monitored by the educators at FSC who teach the classes. For more information, call 325-646-5939, 1-866-211-2255, or visit the website at familysc.net. The FSC offices are located at 901 Ave. B, Brownwood, but the center also serves the counties of Comanche, Coleman, Eastland, Mills, McCulloch, San Saba and Brown. Family Services Center is funded in part by TDFPS-Texas Families: Together & Safe, United Way and private donations.
