Sarah Rutledge, 71, of Sidney, TX, passed away at home Wednesday, December 13, 2017. Funeral services, under the direction of Heartland Funeral & Cremations, will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Heartland Chapel in Early with Bro. David Barnum officiating. Interment will follow at the May Cemetery in May, Texas. Visitation will be 6:00  –  8:00 p.m. Thursday December 14, 2017 at Heartland Funeral Home. Sarah Algia Edwards was born September 29, 1946, in Vernon, Texas, to Lawrence and Peggy (Goodman) Edwards. Sarah worked in nursing as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in numerous locations, Gainsville Convalescence Center, Brownwood State School, and later as a Hospice Nurse. October 30, 2008, Sarah married Jack Rutledge at Southside Baptist Church in Brownwood. Early in life, Sarah loved to do ceramic paintings but later in life, her grandchildren, children, and husband became her hobby. She loved to travel, going to see Florida and the California Redwoods.

Sarah is survived by her husband, Jack Rutledge; sons, Dane Young and wife Tina, Sammy Young and wife Tara; 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; Sierra, Tekoa, and Inara Young; Christian, Shawn, Tiffany, Micheal, Daniel, Micheal M.; Tristin, Konner, Keenan, Keely, Andrew, Kaley, Koltyn, Kynzi, Velissa, Logan, Regina, Lilly; brothers, Nathan Edwards, Jay Edwards, Benny Edwards. She was preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Peggy Edwards.
