Sam Thomas Westerman, Sr., 73, resident of Granbury, TX died on October 23, 2018.
Sam, or Mike as some knew him, was born in Brownwood Texas August 3, 1945 but lived in Granbury for 40 years. He was loved by everyone he met. He always had a way of making you smile. He is deeply missed by so many but especially his family who he always spent time with. He also enjoyed reading, fishing, and riding around town on his scooter.
Sam leaves behind his life-long love of 50 years, Hazel Westerman, their son Sam Thomas Westerman, Jr., their daughter Jackie Schwendinger and son-in-law Jason Schwendinger, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, his brother and best friend Barney Westerman, sisters Vira Hopkins, Mickie Warnell and husband Pete Warnell, Linda Cagle, Pat Cox, and several nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by many loved ones that he is now reconnected and rejoicing with.
A memorial service will be held on November 3rd at 11:30 AM at Granbury Baptist Church, 1200 Weatherford Hwy. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Fisher House organization. They provide rooms and food to families of veterans while they are in the hospital. They were a life saver for our family and many others. Donations can be made at fisherhouse.org.
