salvationarmyOn Wednesday, December 19, 2012, the Salvation Army Service Center in Brownwood, 403 Lakeway Drive in partnership with Peggy Miller, will hold a prayer/candlelight service in memory of the teachers and children who lost their lives on the morning of 12-14-2012 in Connecticut.  The service will begin at 6:00 PM.

According to an email from the Salvation Army director Donna Harris, Peggy Miller, a resident of Brownwood, felt the heavy burden and prayed.

“She felt the need to ask for stuffed toys to give to the families of the children,” Harris said in the email.   “After speaking together, we decided to give them in memory of the children of Sandy  Hook Elementary to children in our area.”

Those interested can donate a stuffed toy by bringing it to The Salvation Army Service Center at 403 Lakeway Drive this week from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM.     For more information about the event or toy collection, please call Peggy Miller at 325-642 7174 or Donna Harris at 325-646-5369 or 325-203-0766.

“As we join together in prayer, our hearts will be with the parents, family, and friends of those in Newtown, Connecticut,” Harris said.
